Charles Wheal's main influences include B.B. King, Charlie Christian, Magic Sam, Bill Jennings, Robert Lockwood Jr and Jimmy Rogers. Charles put his influences to excellent use and honed his style playing with: James Harman, Charlie Musslewhite, Kim Wilson, James Cotton, Snooky Pryor, Huey Lewis, Billy Boy Arnold, Lee Oskar, Magic Dick, Jerry Portnoy and recorded with Mark Hummel amongst others.
